A study of legal protection on computer program and social media

As computer industries have been growing, computer software has been also massively distributed in the market and its protection has become important issue to deal with. However, the lack of communication and understanding of law and regulation often make it difficult to detect and protect programs and social media sites from computer crimes. This paper will provide methods of protecting intellectual proprietary right of computer programs and social media especially focusing on copyrights and patent. This paper will cover copyright protection and the patent law to explore the means of legal protection of computer program and suggest how to evaluate their programs and its marketing potential to apply the best possible protection or combination of protections at the lowest cost.
