Abstract

For accurate iris recognition, it is essential to acquire focused iris images. If a blurred iris image is acquired, the performance of the iris recognition is degraded, because the iris pattern is transformed by blurring such as optical defocusing. In previous researches, they use auto focusing lens for iris recognition camera, but it is too bulky and costly to be applied to mobile phone. So, we propose the new method to increase DOF region with new iris image restoration algorithm based on focus score without any additional hardware. Different from conventional image restoration algorithm, it can be operated at fast speed and used for real-time iris recognition camera.
