Anisotropic photodissociation of CH3Cl

Abstract

The photodissociation of CH3Cl was studied at the photon energy of 2.41-3.47 eV. It was shown that dissociation to CH3+ proceeds on the time scale of molecular rotation or faster and presumably occurs in a repulsive state.
