Abstract

Thin films of molybdenum trioxide were deposited onto glass and electrically conducting substrates fluorine doped tin oxide coated glass (FTO) by spray pyrolysis technique. The effect of concentration (5mM, 10mM, 15 mM) on the structural, morphological, optical and electrochromic properties of MoO3 thin films were studied. The structural studies reveal MoO3 orthorhombic structure of the thin films. With increase in concentration band gap energy varies from 3.11 to 3.04eV. The self-assembled thread like morphology of thin film was confirmed by AFM analysis. Diffusion constant increases with increase in solution concentration from 1.38×10-10 to 1.66×10-10 cm2/s. With increase in concentration of MoO3 coloration efficiency increases from 10 to19 cm2/C, whereas reversibility decreases from 71 to 63%.
