Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new structure of Double Decision-Directed Order Adaptive Weighted Moving Average (DD-OAWMA) channel estimator that can compensate for the received power control bits without delay in WCDMA reverse link. The proposed channel estimator consists of a combination of Predictor and decision-directed FIR filter, where the Predictor is made of an IIR filter. In addition, we propose a new velocity estimation algorithm to overcome the IIR filer divergence problem due to the mobile station velocity. The proposed algorithms can not only be used for WCDMA reverse link but also is applicable for cdma2000 system without major modifications. These algorithms are particularly useful for high speed fading channel, which has been verified through extensive computer simulation.
