Abstract

In a mobile sensor network, when sensor data are sent from a sensor node to the sink node, traffic may be congested at one sensor node, in which case overhead occurs at that node, and this may possibly affect the entire network. Also, this causes frequent data loss as there is excessive traffic or as the topology constantly changes. In this paper, VSDR (Visualization Sensing Data Routing) is designed and implemented, which visually shows on a GML-based map with GPS coordinates the packet paths between sensor nodes as well as the amount of packet traffic. VSDR also includes an algorithm that dynamically reroutes paths in the case of sensor data overhead or a fault occurrence at one or more sensor nodes.
