Abstract

Dystonic storm (status dystonicus) describe episodes of acute severe generalized dystonia. Accompanied by metabolic derangements, dystonic storm is life-threatening and best managed in an intensive care setting. Specific treatment includes a range of medications typically used for dystonia, stereotactic lesioning neurosurgery and deep brain stimulation.
