Abstract

In active media environments, diverse kinds of devices are deployed and utilized. To increase the high quality of media services, it is required to recognize users’ locations. The traditional approach utilizes the trilateration to calculate the users’ locations. However, to increase the accuracy of the locations, accuracy of measured distance of the trilateration should be improved. This paper proposes a distance estimation method based on beacons applying one of beacon signal filters. By improving measured distance, the locations based on the measured distance can be improved.
