Abstract
Strength analysis of composite laminates with free edges using the extended Kantorovich method is proposed. The extended Kantorovich method provides good approximations for free-edge interlaminar stresses. Thus the onset of delamination of laminates can be accurately predicted. Numerical examples demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed analysis method. Since the parametric study can be easily performed by the proposed analysis method, the present strength analysis can be efficiently applied in the preliminary design stage.
