Abstract

In a digital camcorder system, an A/D Converter which converts the analog CCD(Change Coupled Device) signal into digital codes makes an important role to determine the system performance. In this paper, an A/D converter which has 8-bit resolution and 40MSPS conversion speed is proposed. It has an architecture of ping-pong style. With 0.8μm double poly and double metal CMOS technology, the experimental prototype of the proposed A/D converter has ± 0.5LSB INL and ± 0.5LSB DNL.
