Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to compare LPE (Low-Pass Extrapolation)[1] and MxN DCT method with "Macroblock-Repetitive Padding" technique for encoding the textures around the boundary blocks of an object. For this experiment, MxN DCT with LPE are applied to the boundary blocks of a Video Object Plane (VOP). And then, the performance of this technique will be compared with those of Macroblock-Repetitive Padding[2].
