Abstract
Recent advancements in low-dimensional device fabrications of quantum dots and wires have been approaching nature's limitations such as statistical size fluctuations. This article discusses the recent demonstration that an ideal quantum wire nature can be achieved from a vertical cavity laser (VCL)-like structure.
