Abstract

In general, the vein pattern in a finger vein image is not distinctive owing to light scattering through the skin layer, which makes detection of the finger vein region difficult. To solve this problem, a new finger vein image restoration method is proposed. Experimental results show that the equal error rate of finger vein recognition with the proposed restoration method is 0.76 and that without it is 1.35.
