Abstract

A highly efficient runlength-limited (RLL) code with the minimum run-length constraint d=3 and the maximum run-length constraint k=7 was proposed with CMOS implementation result. The capacity of the (3,7) code was found to be 0.4057 which suggested that the code rate 2/5 code was allowable. The efficiency of the proposed code was 98.6% and the density ratio was 1.6.
