Abstract

The method based on conformal mapping technique has been given to resolve dynamical characteristics of field emission in a diodic emitter system. Effects of tip apex radius and cathode-anode distance on field emission in a tower shaped emitter have been described with an exact formal solution. As specific examples, canonical problems were examined with dynamic characteristics of electron emitting from the tip. The beam spot size of electron on the anode plate was theoretically estimated, and also the features of current density and magnification factor have been discussed.
