Abstract
Using CO2 with an affordable technique is an exciting challenge for scientists. So, in this study, we introduce the creation of a budget-friendly, ultrasonication-assisted single hybrid solar-light active SeGCN@Fe3O4 nanocomposite photocatalyst enabling an artificial photosynthetic system for solar CO2-to-formic acid conversion. This present research highlights the innovation of a facile ultrasonication-driven synthesis incorporating magnetic Fe3O4 and Se doping into a single hybrid system, enhancing charge separation, absorption of light, and providing easy magnetic recovery. This ultrasonication-assisted single hybrid solar-light active nanocomposite catalyst, combined with a biocatalyst system, works in a very selective way, achieving a high NADH regeneration of 94.17 %, which is then used to produce pure formic acid from CO2 (225.18 µM, Quantum efficiency; η = 2.817%). Moreover, the integration of photocatalysis with a biocatalytic process provides a simple and highly effective artificial photosynthetic platform, without the need for a complex multicomponent system. This combined approach, our work, ecstatically emphasizes the growth and use of a SeGCN-based photocatalyst for directly turning carbon dioxide into solar fuels.
