Abstract
A forward error correction decoder for digital TVs usually consists of a Viterbi decoder, a Reed-Solomon decoder, and a deinterleaver. This paper introduces a VLSI architecture for convolutional deinterleavers for digital TVs. The new architecture reduces control overheads while minimizing storage requirements.
